ICI Homicide

Course Description:
This course is designed for currently assigned homicide investigators. The course topics include: crime scene management, forensic dentistry, entomology, anthropology, pathology, collecting and preserving evidence, interviewing witnesses, case preparation, investigating "cold" cases, and interrogation law update. At the conclusion of this training course, the investigator will be able to:

• identify essential elements of a crime scene

• preserve evidence

• prepare reports for filing

• prepare a case for prosecution

Instructor: Faye Springer has a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of California. She has worked in the field of criminalistics since 1970. She teaches in the filed of Forensic Science for California Criminalistic Institute, University of New Haven, along with many others.
Paul Ybarrondo is a retired police Captain with an Associates Degree. He teaches in the POST ICI Homicide/Death Investigations class.
David K. Faulkner, (MS Zoology, CSULB), is an Entomologist and Research Associate with the San Diego Natural History Museum, consulting in Civil/Criminal cases involving insects. Lectures focus on forensics related to Death/Homicides.
