EDS 152 American Sign Language 2
Course Description:
Expands Vocabulary and concepts acquired in EDS 151. Expansion of conversational range includes talking about other people and activities, giving directions, and making requests. Students develop discourse skills appropriate for establishing connections with deaf acquaintances and handling a variety of interruptions. Through in-class discussions/demonstrations, course readings, and out-of-class field experience, students are exposed to elements of the deaf culture and community. Taught in ASL without a voice. Prerequisite: EDS 151 or Equivalent. 3 units. This course is offered via distance education each spring semester. Other offerings may be available.Prerequisite:
