Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

The Sacramento State Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
Join us in an exciting venture into lifelong learning, specifically designed for adults age 50 years and over. Our programs will allow you to learn new skills as you discover new interests. Best of all, you'll experience the joys of learning without the stress of grades and tests.

Structure
Classes are offered on weekdays and weekday evenings to accommodate employed and retired adults. Most class meetings will be held at Napa Hall. This state-of-the-art classroom facility features smart classrooms and computer laboratories, and is located at the south end of campus, where parking space is plentiful. We also offer select courses at off-campus facilities, partnering with local retirement communities.

*If you are a retirement community interested in onsite classes, please contact Amy Ruddell at (916) 278-4822.

Faculty
Our instructional team is chosen from current and emeritus faculty members, as well as content experts from the professional community.

Participation
All Osher Institute participants have access to a variety of student lounges and restaurants on campus, and may participate in campus events and functions, including art exhibits and special speaker series. By participating in Osher courses, you join a community of learners who share a similar passion for staying intellectually engaged.

Registration Information
Course registration fees cover the cost of daily campus parking passes, which are issued by Napa Hall to participants. In special cases, an additional activity fee is be applied (for example, Got Chocolate? will carry a $20 materials fee to cover chocolate samples for tasting).

Funding
The Bernard Osher Foundation, a charitable foundation established in 1977 by Bernard Osher, has awarded start-up funding to help establish the Sacramento State Osher Lifelong Learning Institute on the Sacramento State campus.
