July 14 - 18, 2014 Workshops
Advanced Placement Program* Summer Institute workshops provide an opportunity for teachers to enhance their AP* curriculum, understand the AP* exam structures and develop strategies for teaching both content and analytical skills.
The Pre-AP* Program is based on the belief that all students can perform at rigorous academic levels and be prepared to engage in a higher level of learning. Ideally, schools or school districts will send teams of teachers from grade levels 6 - 12.
Fees include workshop, course materials, breakfast (M-F), lunch (M-TH) and parking for the week.
$745 per person for early registrations received by June 2, 2014. Registrations received after June 2 will be $790 per person. For AP* Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics and Studio Art, a $50 lab fee also applies.
Advanced Placement Program* Summer Institute Workshops:
Each AP* workshop is approved for two semester units of academic credit. The unit fee is an additional $130 and is payable at the first class meeting.

Attendance at all sessions is mandatory to earn a certificate of completion and credit (where applicable). The session length of 30 hours is mandated by The College Board.*
Clothing and Climate
Please dress comfortably and casually for all workshops. Sacramento daytime highs can be in the upper 90's in July, with cooler temperatures in the evenings. Air-conditioned classrooms may be chilly so a sweater is recommended.
All AP* and Pre-AP* workshops will be held on the Sacramento State campus.
Breakfast provisions will be available each day and lunch will be available Monday through Thursday. Both are included in your registration fee. Participants are responsible for their own dinner arrangements. There are a variety of restaurants surrounding the Sacramento State campus offering a wide range of menus and prices.
Special arrangements have been made with the Larkspur Landing Hotel. For room reservations, please contact the hotel at (916) 646-1212 and mention the AP* program. There are a limited number of rooms available at this rate.
You must reserve by June 14, 2014 to receive the special rate. If you prefer a different hotel, there are a variety of options available near the campus and throughout the Sacramento area.
For those interested in staying on campus, there are a limited number of dorm rooms available. View the PDF application for dorm rates and options. A completed housing application must be submitted to the Housing and Residential Life Office. See application for more information.
