Requirements

Please upload all requirements to the moodle to complete registration.

Moodle Access

  • Moodle access is achieved by submission of registration form.
  • A confirmation e-mail will be sent out on a Tuesday or Friday (depending on your registration submission time) with your username & password.
  • You will be prompted to change the password as soon as you log in.
  • Please keep safe your login information and do not share it with anyone else.
  • You will need to find the designated section per requirement and upload preferably a PDF of 1mb or less per file. A word file will be accepted if by no means can it be converted to a PDF.
  • Please incorporate your first and last name as well as a description of the assignment when saving files. Use the following format example: johndoe-transcript.pdf, johndoe-letter1.pdf

    Transcript

    Be sure to request an official copy of your most recent high school transcript.

    Two Letters of Recommendation

    Please submit two letters of recommendation. One letter must be from a school official and one from a community member who is not related to you. Each letter should include the following information:

    • Your relationship to the referring person
    • How long he/she has known you
    • Comments on your leadership potential
    • Comments on your personal qualities
    • Why she/he feels you are a qualified candidate for this program
  • Essay Requirements

    The application process also includes two essays that must be submitted prior to June 18, 2012. Each essay must be typewritten, on a separate page, and submitted. Include your full name and signature at the top of each essay. Make sure your response pertains to the questions asked. Each response must be 300 to 500 words.

    Essay One: Leadership

    Discuss your leadership ability and potential. Include an explanation of why you feel you are qualified to participate in the conference. Also, discuss your expectations of how this conference will enhance your leadership ability and potential as well as support you in reaching your life goals.

    Essay Two: Personal Statement

    Write a descriptive piece of obstacles, goals, or achievements you have encountered in your academics or personal life. You can also write about your preferred colleges, area of study you would like to focus on or even about your career aspirations.

    Three Agreements

    Students and Parents/Guardians are REQUIRED to read, understand and agree by signing and returning all three documents before June 18, 2012. All three documents can be found in pages 10-12, towards the end of the AALT Summer Conference Handbook HERE.
