You Are Invited!
On behalf of the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), I am delighted to invite you to attend the 2011 Used Oil and Household Hazardous Waste Training & Conference entitled “Changing Gears: Staying on Track for the Future.” The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Capitol Plaza hotel in Sacramento, California from March 7-9, 2011.
Learning from the past and looking into the future, we continue to adjust to new challenges. We are faced with increased workloads and decreased resources. More programs are coming on line and implementation is needed. We have adopted new ways of thinking as well as refined our skills and abilities. The Training & Conference will provide educational plenary and workshop sessions which will assist us in examining our role and impact on the current environment and the continuing impacted economy. It is our expectation that you will return from the conference with ideas and information that you can apply daily to increase your level of public service and efficiency. We hope this will inspire you to take action.
As always, CalRecycle will continue its tradition of offering an abundance of education, information-sharing and networking tools to help you manage ongoing concerns and issues in today’s complex environment. Workshop sessions are designed to incorporate interaction and skill building. Sessions will explore a variety of environmental topics and ongoing challenges.
I strongly encourage you to attend this year’s CalRecycle conference in Sacramento and contribute to the collaboration that helps us maintain our standards of excellence and pursue our goals in household hazardous waste management, and used oil/filter collection. If you participate in the Used Oil Block Grant or Oil Payment Program, you may charge authorized expenses from the conference to your oil funds. I want to assure you that as a conference attendee, you will benefit from a valuable and worthwhile educational experience in a stimulating setting. You will return to your community inspired with new information and motivated to overcome the challenges of tomorrow. I can guarantee that you will find attendance very worthwhile. I hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Kristin Yee
