Pre-Summit Workshops
Pre-Summit Session 1
Is Your Program Really a
Self-Sufficiency Model?
Which program are you delivering—a get the job model where people end up becoming the working poor or a powerful springboard to self-sufficiency model that takes people closer to economic independence and the American dream? You may talk about self-sufficiency as your goal, but is every aspect of your program design and all of your pre and post employment services really delivering that outcome? This workshop will teach you how to add new program features that promote self-sufficiency as well as reinventing your orientation, assessment, case management, job clubs, job search instruction, retention and all your services from an upward mobility perspective. You’ll leave the workshop with many valuable ideas for new and existing services as well as some powerful handout tools that will teach your customers self-sufficiency skills!
