STATEWIDE WEBINAR

SECURE COMMUNITY REENTRY FACILITIES

An Overview of Facility Planning, Program,
and Continuity of Care

Beginning in July of 2007 through October 2007 , the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), in conjunction with numerous statewide partners, initiated a statewide informational campaign on the benefits and responsibilities of building Secure Community Reentry Facilities into our communities. Reentry Facilities will be built in cities, counties or regions willing to partner with CDCR, to achieve the purposes of this initiative. These facilities will enable CDCR and local community agencies to create an unprecedented continuity of care in the provision of needed support services for parolees.

As a follow-up to the outreach efforts that already occurred, CDCR will present a "next steps" web seminar with Secretary James Tilton, and members of the Executive Management Team, on Secure Community Reentry Facilities. Participants will explore the conceptual designs of reentry facilities, and the program intensive services that will be provided to offenders will be discussed. There will also be a live, interactive question and answer session.

The agenda will be as follows:

  I. Facility Planning, Construction & Management - Conceptual Designs
  II. Programs
  III. Operations
  IV. Jail Construction Funding
