Things to Do in Sacramento
Sacramento Gold Card The Sacramento Gold Card is available at the Radisson Hotel Sacramento. Just ask for a Gold Card at the front desk. The staff will activate the card and you’ll be on your way! The card is good for discounts at many area attractions, restaurants and shopping venues. Present your Gold Card to the cashier or admissions desk at a participating venue and receive such discounts as 2 for 1 admission, free dessert or percentage off on purchases. The card comes with a brochure detailing which venues and establishments accept the Gold Card.
Site Seeing Old Sacramento located at 1004 2nd Street. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Enjoy the Gold Rushera ambiance while browsing 125 shops, restaurants and museums located on the Sacramento River. Featuring the world class CA State Railroad Museum, horse & carriage rides, entertainment, cobblestone streets and wooden boardwalks, living history programs and a year-round event calendar. Be sure to stop by the Visitors center on 2nd Street next to the Wells Fargo Museum for more information. Old Sacramento also holds the largest concentration of restored buildings in the West – over 120.
Museums The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts located at 1020 O Street. Open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed Mondays). The museum is a cultural destination on the world of ideas, innovation, art and culture. The museum brings our rich and diverse history alive through the extraordinary collection of the California State Archives and other collections throughout the state.
Governor’s Mansion State Historic Park located at 1526 H Street. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (tours on the hour). This regal Victorian mansion, home to 13 of California’s governors from 1903 to 1967, is filled with historic furnishings purchased by the governors and their families. Fourteen foot ceilings, Persian carpets, Italian marble fireplaces, chandeliers and French mirrors grace the mansion.
Crocker Art Museum located at 216 O Street. Open Tuesday – Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Founded in 1885, this is the oldest art museum west of the Mississippi River. Current exhibits include: The Monterey Art Colony which features paintings from an artists’ colony on Monterey Peninsula from 1875-1907; and Waiting for Van Gogh – works from Van Gogh’s precursors, from 1813 through the end of the 19th Century.

For shopping enthusiasts we have the Downtown Plaza – a 3 block outdoor mall anchored by Macy’s on the west end and the Hard Rock Café on the east end. In between you’ll find everything from Ann Taylor to the Sweet Shop, American Eagle Outfitters to Z Gallerie.
If you are looking for an indoor mall, head to the Arden Fair Mall. This two-story mall has 3 anchor stores – Macy’s, Nordstrom and Sears. Throughout the mall you can shop at virtually any type of store you want – Ann Taylor Loft, Tevana, Sephora, the Disney Store, Coldwater Creek, Abercrombie & Fitch, Pottery Barn and the Apple store to name just a few. Additionally, if you log onto the Arden Fair website, www.ardenfair.com and click on the link to Visitor Incentives, you can print out a page to bring in to the mall concierge desk and along with your out-of-town driver’s license, you’ll get a coupon book for the mall!
