Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the Los Angeles County Online CAHAN Training course. The California Health Alert Network (CAHAN) is the State of California’s official public health alerting system available on a 24/7/365 basis for distribution of health alerts, dissemination of prevention and treatment guidelines, coordination of disease investigation efforts, preparedness planning, and other initiatives that strengthen state and local preparedness and response efforts.

Online Alert Level Training Course
This course provides alert level training. We have developed this tutorial to ensure all new and returning users can easily interact and use the system’s key alerting functions. This course can be taken at your convenience and at your own pace.

Sending Alerts Computer Based Training Course
This section provides an introduction to CAHAN and the types of alerts sent by LACDPH.
This section will provide training on how to send a CAHAN alert by role, which is the preferred and best practice when sending an alert.
This section will provide training on how to send a CAHAN alert by user. Sending an alert by user is primarily used when there are a small number of people to alert or a set of users who are not all in one role.
This section will provide training on the additional key functions that are available once a CAHAN alert has been sent.
