The Summit’s Program

This year’s Summit theme is Overcoming New Challenges: Finding Opportunities in Our Changing World. With the American economy in turmoil and the broader array of refugees coming to California, this theme reflects the more difficult experiences newly arriving refugees are expected to face and the hope of achieving the common goal of success. In accordance with the theme, the Summit will feature a program of dynamic speakers and workshops on strategies that foster success through economic independence and long-term self-sufficiency. As you will see from the tentative agenda, the Summit will offer a variety of sessions, which provide new perspectives on diverse topics, such as refugee employment services, arriving refugee populations, funding strategies, consumer protection, refugee families and communities, and much more. The Summit will also present pertinent and valuable information on services for torture survivors and human trafficking victims. This event offers a unique opportunity for attendees to actively participate and network with federal, state, local, and private stakeholders involved in refugee resettlement.
