Modern Bus and New Technologies Seminar

Tuesday, June 3, 2008
University Union Ballroom, Sacramento State (6000 J Street)

Don't miss this one-day opportunity to see modern buses and hear about breakthrough technologies for transit that are being explored.

Technology experts will expose us to cutting-edge transit technologies, as well as stylized bus features and state-of-the-art transit centers that we might someday be able to bring to the Sacramento region.  Did you know there are fuels that produce water instead of air pollution, technology that will guide a bus directly to the curb so you can walk on-board with ease, signal systems that let buses zip through intersections bypassing traffic congestion, and Smart cards to help passengers board instantaneously?  Experts from UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Caltrans, Cleveland, Washington D.C. and London as well as others will show us what they are studying today for the future.  Some samples of these buses will even be on display so we walk through them and see what it can be like in Sacramento some day.

Regional Transit is in the process of developing it's 30-year transit plan to improve the transit travel experience - but you can see what may be in the future now by attending this seminar.
