Sponsor / Showcase Exhibitor Information
Dear Colleague:
The Sacramento region is burgeoning with high-tech industries that require a highly educated workforce in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). According to the American Electronics Association, Sacramento is California’s fastest growing cyber-city and the state’s sixth largest in high-tech industry employment. To meet the growing high-tech labor force needs, the Sacramento region must have a strong STEM educational pipeline that allows thriving industries to continue to flourish and be successful.
To this end, a regional collaborative that includes Aerojet, Educational Testing Services, Los Rios Community College District, Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance, Intel, Sierra College, Sacramento Municipal Utilities District, Sacramento State and UC Davis respectfully invite you to participate and support the Sacramento regional STEM Summit, Building the STEM Pipeline: Partnerships for Innovation. The Summit will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007, at Sacramento State.
At this time I would like to solicit your patronage in the form of financial support and participation at this Summit. There are two main options for financial support – sponsor or showcase exhibitor. For details about each level of participation and associated costs, click here.
The vision of the Summit is to create the foundation for collaboration. Our vision is to establish the Sacramento region as having the strongest kindergarten-to-workforce STEM pipeline in California within the next three to five years and within the nation in five to seven years. To achieve this lofty goal, the STEM Summit strives to provide an interactive forum where collaborative partners identify gaps in the regional STEM pipeline and begin to develop and implement an action plan to improve, expand, and maintain the pipeline to meet regional labor force needs.
With the ultimate goal of the Summit to ensure that our region’s STEM workforce demands are met now and in the future, we hope you see the value in this important event. Please contact Phil Garcia, Executive Director of Governmental and Civic Affairs, Sacramento State at (916) 278-6710 with any questions. I appreciate your support of this event.
Sincerely,
