			1A: Dispelling Myths About Hiring People with Disabilities Moderator: Rachel Stewart, California Health Incentives Improvement Project Teddie-Joy Remhild, Los Angeles County Public Authority for In-Home Supportive Service Attendees will learn how to deal with attitudinal barriers, stereotypical thinking, and assumptions about what people can and can’t do in the workforce. This workshop will provide departmental participants with the tools to raise awareness of diversity and sensitivity in recruiting, hiring, and retaining people with disabilities.	Valley Quail
			1B: Eliminate Barriers Through Reasonable Accommodations Moderator: Dianne Russell, Department of Rehabilitation Janie Hickok Siess, Esq., Department of Fair Employment and Housing Eliminating barriers in the work place is often critical for successful hiring and retention of persons who have a disability. In this workshop, attendees will learn what’s needed to make equitable, uniform and timely decisions that will ensure reasonable accommodation is provided to applicants for State jobs and employees with disabilities. 			1C: State Department Models: Walking the Walk Moderator: Cecilia Perez Dunn, California Department of Aging Ernesto Cordova, Department of Public Health Mary Liz Perez, Franchise Tax Board Fernando Russell, California Highway Patrol Ted Summerfelt, Department of Motor Vehicles Lee A. Worth, Department of Health Care Services This workshop will showcase State Departments who have successfully hired persons with disabilities. Learn about their unique and successful strategies in recruitment and outreach, creation of LEAP classifications, utilization of LEAP lists, gaining top-level management support, establishing hiring policies, and providing training.
