Coding

July 10 – 14, 1 – 5 p.m.

Learn the basics of computer programming to begin an exciting path in coding or computer science. Students will gain a solid understanding of how programming languages are used to build applications.

Cyber Security

July 24 – 28, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Explore the world of hackers, online attacks and more in this cybersecurity course. Students will examine infamous security cases, learn ways to protect and defend themselves against cyberattack, and gain hands-on lab experience.

Democracy in Action  

July 17 – 21, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Experience California government in action. Outside speakers and field trips will bring to life the three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial.

Engineering and Robotics

June 26 – 30, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 
June 26 – 30, 1 – 5 p.m. 

Build and program your own personalized robot! Students will also be challenged to design and build a popsicle stick bridge and compete to see whose bridge can support the most load.

Farm-to-Fork

July 17 – 21, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
July 24 – 28, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Dig in to unique careers in food and agriculture and learn how to support healthy communities. Students will learn where the region’s food comes from, how it lands on our plates and how to best prepare it.

Fashion

Learn how an idea becomes a product, get hands-on experience in fashion illustration and learn how products are marketed and merchandised to the public.

Fire and Emergency Services

June 26 – 30, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Explore the rigors of fire station life, academy training and physical fitness requirements while discovering career pathway options in emergency and medical services. CPR certification included.

Learn how forensic biology can solve crimes by hunting down body fluid stains using crime lights and generating unique DNA profiles. This hands-on workshop is for anyone interested in how CSI really works.

Ever wonder why jellyfish appear to glow under aquarium lights? Learn how the gene responsible for glow has revolutionized cell biology and biotechnology.

Health Careers 101

Do you know what a clinical lab scientist does? What about a radiologist or a physical therapist? Explore traditional and nontraditional health professions, earn a CPR certificate and learn the daily duties of paramedics.
