Parking

Parking On Campus

Students and visiting instructors may park on campus using a daily permit ($5.00 per day) which may be purchased at the yellow permit machines located in the parking lots. Weekly permits ($6.75) and semester permits ($108) can be purchased at the following locations: Napa Hall; Student Financial Services Center (SFSC) in Lassen Hall; and Universtiy Parking and Transportation (UTAPS) office at 7667 Folsom Blvd. For questions, call 278-PARK. For more information and tips on parking at Sacramento State, please click here.

Parking at Napa Hall

Students and visitors can park behind Napa Hall in the Overflow parking lot or directly across the street in Lot 7. A parking permit is required to park in these lots. Download the Napa Hall Parking Map After 4:30 p.m. and on weekends, students may park in the Faculty/Staff lot closer to the building.

Parking Tips

Common Sense Safety

Great strides have been made over the past few years to ensure that students have access to convenient and safe parking facilities. Please note that parking patrols and regulations continue 24 hours a day, every day.

To help you attend classes on campus in a stress-free fashion, here are a few tips to consider BEFORE departing...

  • Study the campus map and pick a parking lot near your class.
  • Review your parking options. There are several options available to help accommodate your schedule, including semester long permits ($108), weekly permits ($6.75), and daily permits ($5.00 per day).
  • If your choice is a semester or weekly permit, purchase it in advance at the following locations: Napa Hall, Student Financial services Center (SFSC) in Lassen Hall; and University Parking and Transportation (UTAPS) office at 7667 Folsom Blvd.
  • Student parking permits and coin lot permits are valid in all student parking lots and after 4:30 p.m. in faculty/staff parking lots, unless otherwise marked.

Once on campus, think safety...

  • Arrange a buddy system, perhaps with a classmate.
  • Locate phones beforehand, and if necessary, call public safety, 278-6851 and request help or an escort, or arrange for the night shuttle service by calling 278-7260. Night shuttle operates during the fall and spring semesters, Monday-Thursday from dusk to 11 p.m.
  • IN AN EMERGENCY, USE A CAMPUS PHONE, LOCATED STRATEGICALLY ABOUT THE CAMPUS, AND DIAL 911.

The campus hosts thousands of students and visitors weekly. Most drive to the campus. The first week of September and February could be troublesome because regular students are firming up class schedules and purchasing course materials.

Transportation Alternatives

To help keep the Sacramento region clean, we encourage you to use alternative means of transportation to and from the campus. Ridesharing is using an alternative means of transportation to the single occupant vehicle. Ridesharing opportunities to Sacramento State include riding mass transit, car pooling, van pooling, bicycling and walking. Call Trish Evans, Sacramento State Employee Transportation Coordinator (ETC) at (916) 278-5727, or send e-mail to evansT@csus.edu, or visit Transportation and Parking Services in the lobby of Foley Hall to discuss ridesharing opportunities. The main Transportation and Parking Services phone number is (916) 278-PARK.
