Excellence in Leadership

This 12-week interactive series is designed to help aspiring leaders in public, private and non-profit organizations identify and develop their individual leadership and problem-solving skills. The process includes a detailed leadership practices inventory, one-on-one conversations with high-profile government and business leaders and experiential activities. Through this integration of theory and practice, participants are empowered to address the critical issues impacting their organizations.

Leadership for the Government Executive

LGE is an eight-month certificate program for executives and upper-level managers from the business, program, and information technology branches of California government. Ideal candidates include individuals responsible for strategic planning and policy setting across agency and department lines. LGE emphasizes enterprise-wide thinking by weaving state initiatives into the curriculum and creating a solid basis for discussion as participants focus on how to successfully lead California into the future. Participants learn to develop mission and vision statements for their organizations, create a service culture, develop effective organizational change models, and employ cutting-edge coaching and mentoring techniques and effective communication frameworks.
