To be considered for admission to the ABC program, applicants must:  

• Be a California resident
• Meet admission requirements to Sacramento State
• Complete and submit the application packet
• Submit official transcripts of all institutions attended
• Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.6 based on the last 60 semester units of graded transferable course work

A supplemental writing or oral communication document may be required. Program admission is contingent upon meeting the requirements outlined above and passing a drug screening and background check.

Pre-Admission Courses

The following classes must be completed with a grade of “C” or better prior to submitting an application:

• Anatomy (with a lab)
• Physiology (with a lab)
• Microbiology (with a lab)
• Chemistry (integrated or organic chemistry are recommended)
• Written Communication
• Oral Communication
• Statistics
• Critical Thinking

Application Process

Applying to the program is a three part process:

1. Be selected by one of the partnering community colleges. Please contact the community college directly for their program application and selection process.

2. Apply to the bachelor’s degree program by submitting the following materials as a complete admission packet:

• Program Application
• One set of official, sealed transcripts of all colleges and universities attended other than Sacramento State (unofficial transcripts can be used for initial evaluation)
• $50 non-refundable application processing fee (check or money order payable to Sacramento State)
