The Advanced Supervision for the Government Professional program is endorsed by the Department of Personnel Administration.  General competencies taught in Advanced Supervision for the Government Professional are linked to competencies identified by the HR Modernization Project as those required to perform effectively as supervisors in state government.

Advanced Supervision for the Government Professional provides a one-of-a-kind experience for participants through a dynamic delivery model which includes a pre- and post training assessment.  Advanced Supervision for the Government Professional is a forward-thinking departure from traditional “day in a desk” training. Using individual development plans, group discussions, expert speakers, case studies, and participant-submitted projects, the classroom becomes an experiential laboratory in which senior-level supervisors address real world problems with realistic solutions.  The program also connects key skills with visionary statewide initiatives such as Succession Planning, the FI$CAL Project, HR Modernization Project, and the 21st Century Project.

2.  Is Management for the Government Professional recognized by the State of California as a program of choice to train current and future civil service managers?

Yes.
