The College of Continuing Education (CCE) partners with SETA

CCE's mission and goal is to create, deliver, and support programs that increase the quality of life for individuals and employers in our community. The construction industry currently has the highest percent of unemployed workers. CCE and Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA) have partnered with the intent to mitigate these job losses through education and retraining. With financial assistance through the federal Recovery ACT funds, allocated by the U.S. Labor Department and administered through SETA, unemployed workers may qualify to have their tuition reimbursed for the Sustainable Facilities Management courses offered through CCE.

The Sustainable Facilities Management certificate program responds to the growing unemployment in the Sacramento area and is suitable for dislocated workers in the construction industry which has the greatest number and the highest percent of unemployed workers.

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important component of the building industry. As awareness of green practices and their utilization develop, so does demand for their implementation. This program covers the basic elements of facility management along with related sustainability elements.

From sustainable real estate development and construction to extending asset life, this program provides a comprehensive review of the essential skills required of today’s facility managers. Participants will be introduced to the importance of incorporating sustainability principles into every step of facility management. Specific focus is given to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification process, green building concepts, green cleaning, commissioning, indoor air quality (IAQ), and reducing the carbon footprint of buildings.

Dislocated workers can enroll and participate in the program at no charge, if they demonstrate readiness to enter and successfully complete the program. To see if you qualify, follow these steps:
