The new Master of Public Health in Health Promotion, Policy and Leadership is designed to prepare public health practitioners to address the health needs of diverse communities. The program is offered in partnership with the Department of Public Health in the College of Health and Human Services at Sacramento State. 

What is public health?

According to the American Public Health Association, public health promotes and protects the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work and play. Public health practitioners promote wellness by encouraging healthy behaviors, and try to prevent people from getting sick or injured in the first place.
