High school students put their imaginations and their hands to work, turning old-fashioned recycling into newfangled fashions during the one-week run of the 2017 Fashion Academy at Sacramento State.

Professors Ernie Olson and Esther Amato teamed up once again to lead the summer academy. In addition to celebrating their creativity with a fashion show, students learned how to sketch their own fashion designs and how to merchandise their clothing and accessories – from the moment an idea is conceived, through production and marketing and finally, making the sale.
