Megan Bailey was a graphic artist, Ira Ayers a human resources specialist and would-be author, and Brandon Anderson an opera singer.

Each one wound up unemployed in need of workforce services from the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA). And each one wound up on the other side hired by SETA as job coaches. They met in the first Workforce Development Professional Apprenticeship Program at the College of Continuing Education (CCE) at Sacramento State.
