Dean of CCE named Regional Cabinet Chair
The University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), a Washington, D.C.-based association for college and university leaders in professional, continuing, and online education, has named Dr. Jenni Murphy, our dean of Sac State’s College of Continuing Education, Regional Cabinet Chair for a two-year term (2023-25).
Dr. Murphy has spent the past 22 years at Sac State. Dr. Murphy’s research and practice focuses on state and institutional policies impacting the shortage of postsecondary completions and degree attainment in California. In addition to her role as dean, she also serves as the founder of ProjectAttain! — a regional initiative and nonprofit organization working to close the talent deficit by boosting adult credentialing and educational attainment, particularly for underinvested populations.
“The models of individualized support and specific resources that UPCEA is built upon speaks to the mission of Sacramento State’s College of Continuing Education. I am a champion for educational attainment and degree completion because of the positive impact on the lives of adult learners, as well as the success of the communities where they live, work, and play,” says Dr. Murphy.
