A video featuring Dr. Jenni Murphy, dean of the College of Continuing Education, won first place in the “Champions of Change” contest at Sacramento State. The entry by first-time videographer Chris Penales focuses on Dr. Murphy’s work in educational attainment for working age adults.

The Doctorate in Educational Leadership Program at Sac State sponsored the 2018 contest. Each contestant had to create a video that highlighted an Ed.D. alumni, their achievements, how they became a “Champion of Change” and made a difference in students’ lives.

In the video, Dr. Murphy describes the educational attainment movement and is joined by students in degree and certificate programs.

Penales received $1,000 as the first place winner.
