The College of Continuing Education has a new dean starting this month — Dr. Guido Krickx.
Krickx was most recently the associate dean and director of Graduate Business Programs at St. Mary’s College in Moraga. “We are very happy and excited for Guido’s professional achievement and new endeavors, though we will miss his friendship and dedicated leadership in Graduate Business programs,” says Zhan Li, Dean of the Saint Mary’s College School of Economics and Business Administration.
During the last five years at St. Mary’s College, Krickx developed and directed graduate programs in four locations. At California State University, East Bay from 1997 to 2006, he had several administrative responsibilities and oversaw the university’s academic programming in Europe. He also managed MBA consulting project courses while at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a faculty member.
His doctorate is in management and he earned an MBA from UCLA. He holds a graduate degree in management from Rijksuniversiteit Gent, Belgium. His undergraduate degree in commercial engineering is from Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium.
Krickx brings to Sac State considerable experience in global education and graduate degree development. His keen understanding of California’s economy will help him to craft innovative educational opportunities for both traditional and nontraditional students in partnership with Sacramento State’s seven other colleges. He is also expected to bolster recruitment to the English Language Institute at CCE and support the success of international students.
