Speech Pathology and Audiology Professor
Dr. Ann Blanton is a licensed speech-language pathologist, who has been a professor in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at Sacramento State since 2008. She also teaches in the Second Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology, a degree completion program coordinated by the College of Continuing Education.
Before coming to Sacramento State, Dr. Blanton taught speech-language pathology at the University of Nevada, Reno. She also worked as a speech-language pathologist in the public schools.
She earned her first bachelor’s degree in speech communication with a minor in music at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She received a second bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in communicative disorders from California State University, Northridge, as well as a second master’s degree in voice performance from the university. Her doctoral degree is in speech pathology from University of Nevada, Reno.
Among her areas of expertise: transgender voice therapy and multicultural attitudes toward cleft palate.
