Health Careers 101 Academy Instructor
Christina Strandgaard has been a lecturer with the Department of Biological Sciences at Sacramento State since 2011 and is an instructor in the Summer Academies for High School Students program. In the Health Careers 101 Academy, students will learn whether a career in the health profession suits their interests, talents and skills by researching various health professions and developing academic and career goals.
Strandgaard teaches courses in human anatomy and physiology and is an advisor at the Natural Sciences Advising Center at Sacramento State. She received a Multi-Cultural Center All People’s Recognition Award in 2011.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in nutrition at UC Davis, her master’s degree in nutritional science from the University of Washington, and returned to UC Davis for her doctorate in endocrinology. Strandgaard previously taught at American River College and the University of New Haven in Connecticut.
