Profile

David Coffman is a retired Sacramento County sheriff’s deputy and an instructor with the Summer Academies for High School Students in the College of Continuing Education.  The Law Enforcement Summer Academy provides students with a broad understanding of the law enforcement profession and what it takes to become a successful police officer or sheriff’s deputy in an urban community.

David’s career included assignments with the SWAT team, internal affairs and officer training.  He has taught courses in survival stress training, arrest control, use of force, basic SWAT, and internal affairs process.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in intelligence studies from American Military University in Charles Town, West Virginia.
