Exploring Careers in Manufacturing Academy Instructor
Sacramento State graduate Lance Hastings returns to the University, this time as an instructor in the Exploring Careers in Manufacturing Academy. He’s currently president and chief executive officer of the California Manufacturers & Technology Association and was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to serve on the Future of Work Commission. That commission, which includes leaders from technology, labor, business, education and other sectors across California, is examining jobs of the future and planning educational and training pathways.
Previously, Hastings was vice president of national affairs for MillerCoors. He’s also been vice president and director of government relations for the California Grocers Association and worked as a chief consultant for the California State Legislature.
Hastings serves on the Sacramento State Alumni Association Board of Directors. He earned his bachelor’s of science in economics with a minor in government.
