Mary C. Lawrence-Jones

Mary C. Lawrence-Jones has been recognized for outstanding leadership in her career, in the classroom and in the community.  She joined Sacramento State in 2013, teaching supervisory classes in the State Supervision Online Certificate program at the College of Continuing Education.  She is the assistant director with the Sacramento County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS), a program that serves millions of children and families in California each year.

Mary has held executive and leadership positions with the State Department of Child Support Services and the Franchise Tax Board (FTB) for more than 25 years. She worked in the FTB Employee Development Section as a training officer/consultant, teaching mandatory supervisory and employee development classes.

Mary holds bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University, and a master’s degree in organizational leadership and executive certificate in public and non-profit leadership from Brandman University. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. 

Mary was recognized for exemplary leadership and service by the California Child Support Directors Association when presented with the William R. Knudson Award in 2010.  She is a wife and mother of six children, and enjoys going to the movies, listening to music, traveling and working at her church.
