Instructional Design for eLearning Instructor
Rachel Dillon has been a graphic designer for over 25 years as well as an art educator and is currently an instructional designer at Franklin Templeton Investments. She has developed instructor-led and web-based training courses for external financial advisers and internal staff, and “micro learning pieces on specific financial topics” for the public, she said..
Dillion joined Sacramento State in 2018, bringing her visual design talents and teaching background to the Instructional Design for eLearning certificate program at the College of Continuing Education.
Dillon says she found her “calling as an instructional designer” and will receive her E-Learning Instructional Design graduate certificate from UC Irvine Extension in March 2019. She holds a bachelor of science in art and graphic design from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Dillon has taught and developed elementary school art curriculum since 2009. A children’s book author and illustrator, she has presented and taught art teachers her painting style and methods at state and national art educator conventions. She is also developing a six-year rotational art curriculum for elementary schools, where art docents deliver lessons in art history, technique and theory.
