Profile

Sherry Caraballo Dorfman brings 20 years of executive experience in the superior court system to the Judicial Administration Graduate Certificate Program at Sacramento State. She has been an instructor since 2009. 

She served in the Superior Court of California, Contra Costa County, as chief assistant executive officer until her retirement in 2006. Since then, she has also directed the Judicial Careers Education Program at San Mateo Community College, a grant-funded partnership of the Judicial Council of California’s Administrative Office of the Courts, several Bay Area superior courts, San Jose City College, and San Mateo Community College.

Sherry has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree from Florida State University, both in criminology. She has held adjunct faculty positions at the University of Connecticut, Golden Gate University (San Francisco), and San Jose City College.

Sherry is the owner and principal consultant of SCD Consulting based in Alamo, California. She also participates in the work of several non-profits as a board member and officer, currently serving as president of Diablo Theatre Company, co-founder/treasurer of REadingADvantage Inc., and secretary of the Richard E. Arnason Court Scholarship Fund.
