Profile

As a criminal justice instructor, Timothy Albright says his goal is “demystifying the law enforcement profession for students and preparing those future practitioners to better lead within the communities they serve.”

Timothy is a 22-year veteran of law enforcement, currently serving as a lieutenant overseeing professional standards in the Elk Grove Police Department. He is a faculty member in the Division of Criminal Justice at Sacramento State and teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Since 2013 Timothy has taught in the online Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a degree completion program coordinated by the College of Continuing Education. He joined CCE in 2007, teaching a core course in the Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation.

Timothy received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice management and his master’s degree in negotiation and conflict resolution from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He has served in law enforcement leadership positions since early in his career, with an emphasis in the study of leadership in criminal justice organizations.
