covering disparate facets such as drinking water, building
safety, vaccines and treatments, and education programs to reduce
tobacco use and to promote exercise. And California’s position as

A native of Virginia, Sacramento State Prof. Michael Mink started
his academic career with a strong southern pedigree – a
bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of William and
Mary, and a master’s in public administration and public policy
from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
