Advanced Placement ® Summer Institute
July 15-18, 2024

The Advanced Placement Summer Institute at Sacramento State is committed to providing educational continuity to all educators seeking the Advanced Placement (AP®) skill set.
Come learn with us!  We currently plan to be in-person this coming July.

The AP® Summer Institutes are subject-specific professional development opportunities that provide teachers with the support and training needed to teach AP® courses. Teachers from around the world come together at these institutes to exchange ideas and information about AP® courses and exams.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING REGISTRATION:  The College Board requires that all registrations for AP® Summer Institutes be submitted online, and registration requires the use of your College Board account. Third party (administrator) registrations are not permitted by College Board.

Registration is now open.  Register online today!

The Advanced Placement Program® Summer Institute workshops provide an opportunity for teachers to:

  • enhance their AP® curriculum
  • understand the AP® exam structures, and
  • develop strategies for teaching both content and analytical skills

Ideally, schools or school districts will send teams of teachers from grade levels 6 – 12.

The minimum session length of 30 hours is mandated by The College Board.®

Participants who attend 90% or more of the Institute will receive a certificate indicating participation in the workshop. In compliance with the College Board, participants who miss more than 10% of the Institute will not be eligible for a certificate.
