The Workforce Development Professional Certificate Program culminates in a capstone presentation.

Participants deliver a short presentation on a workforce issue using the skills and tools gained in the courses, such as applying behavioral and technical competencies to the work environment. 

After reviewing the feedback, an Individual Development Plan (IDP) will be created with a participant’s short and long-term goals, along with strategies to achieve the goals and the measurements of success.

Participants will wrap up the program by reviewing what they have accomplished and discussing their future role in the workforce development industry.

Capstone projects in the 2016 cohort included:

• a career center remodeled for the ease, use and productivity of job seekers
• more effective services for students and people with disabilities by partnering with a career center and a community college
• the creation of new mobile applications to assist job seekers
