Profile

Professor Chia-Jung Chung will bring her passion in education to the Future Teachers Academy, where high school students will explore teaching careers and gain hands-on experience in inspiring the love of learning in children. She’s been a professor at Sacramento State since 2004 and specializes in educational technology.

Since 2015, Chung has been preparing the next generation of teachers in the graduate and teaching credential programs at the College of Education. She has also taught web design to elementary and middle school students in Sac State’s Academic Talent Search Program.

Chung began her career as an elementary school teacher after earning her bachelor’s degree in science and mathematics education at the National Taipei Teacher’s College in Taiwan. She earned her master’s degree at Penn State University and her doctorate at the University of Iowa, both degrees in curriculum and instruction. Her research interests include mobile cloud learning and interactive technology. She’s co-authored a number of journal articles including “Technology Trumping Sleep: Impact of Electronic Media and Sleep in Late Adolescent Students,” published in the Journal of Education and Learning.
