Profile

Dr. Heather Thompson is an assistant professor and Acting Chair in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Sacramento State. She is also faculty coordinator for the Second Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, a degree completion program coordinated by the College of Continuing Education.

A speech-language pathologist, Dr. Thompson earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Waterloo, her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Western University and her doctoral degree in speech-language pathology from University of Utah.

Dr. Thompson has made presentations in the U.S. and Canada and received a doctoral research award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
