Coding has become an increasingly important skill - and that was evident when the Summer Academies for High School Students program introduced the Coding Academy in 2017. Devin Cook, the Sacramento State computer science professor who led the academy, had to add a second class after the first one quickly filled up.

Likewise, computer science professor Jun Dai, who taught the new Cyber Security Academy, had to add another class after it, too, had a long waiting list.

Both academies caught the attention of “Good Day” reporter Courtney Dempsey, who stopped by and chatted with both professors.

Dempsey, by the way, is a Sacramento State alumnus, along with a few other personalities on the popular morning show. Be sure to check out the video!
